Commercial farming of snails in open pastures in temperate, Australian conditions is the most sustainable method of producing large numbers of high-quality snails for the gourmet food trade.

Free-range or open pasture snail farming is an agriculturally-based commercial opportunity or product that is relatively new to Australia and new to commercial production. It produces high yields of snails and is more cost effective to establish than previous methods of farming snails in Australia.
